Shipping Policies

UR Spider Shop is proud to offer you the most competitive shipping rates. All of our shipments are professionally packed to ensure the safety of your items in route. We also ship to Hawaii and Alaska for an additional charge.

On average, your order will be processed by the next business day.


The bookstore will use the e-mail address you use to access your Spider Shop account as the primary form of communication for your web order confirmation, and any issues that may arise. Therefore, after you submit your web order, please check your e-mail inbox periodically for any communication from the bookstore.

University of Richmond Bookstore is the most convenient, simple way to order university apparel and souvenir items online. If a requested item is out of stock, we will notify you immediately.

If you have any questions about placing an online order, especially for chairs, diploma frames, framed prints, and mirrors, please call the bookstore before submitting your order, and someone will assist you.

Web orders can be paid for with Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and Spider Card.

The UR Bookstore ships orders via UPS. Please include a complete street address as UPS does not ship to a P.O. Box.

Expedited Shipping Fees

UPS 2nd Day Air orders are an additional $20 shipping charge plus the standard shipping charge.

UPS Next Day Air orders are an additional $30 shipping charge plus the standard shipping charge.

Alaska and Hawaii Orders

An extra $10 shipping charge plus the standard shipping charge applies to all web orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii. These orders can only be shipped via the UPS 2nd Day Air service. UPS Next Day Air service is available at an additional $50 shipping charge plus the standard shipping charge.

International Orders

If you would like to ship an order outside of the U.S., there will be an additional $40 shipping charge.

Chair Orders

Academic Chairs make great graduation, birthday and Christmas gifts. These rockers and captain's chairs are special ordered and shipped directly from the factory to your door. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery, and contact the bookstore to inquire about Rush Delivery details.

A $40 shipping fee applies to all chair orders shipped to Texas, Rocky Mountain states, and states in the West. Please call for rates to Alaska and Hawaii. A $30 shipping fee applies to all chair orders to all other states.

Diploma Frame Orders

Your UR diploma is beautifully displayed in a quality frame by Professional Framing Company. Frames are custom made for our diplomas in several exquisite styles from the finest materials.

Standard shipping charges per diploma frame range from $15 to $26. Upon submission of your web order, please allow 2 to 3 weeks to receive your diploma frame via UPS Ground delivery.

Diploma frame brochures can be sent to you at your request. Please call (804) 289-8491. Samples of diploma frames are on display at the bookstore.

Exchanges and Returns

We are confident that you will enjoy our products. So confident that if you are not completely satisfied, you may exchange or return items purchased within 30 business days from the day you received your order and receive a full refund. This does not apply to new and used textbooks. All items must be returned in the original condition.

  • CDs and DVDs must be unopened, still in the shrink-wrap or original protective packaging.
  • New books must include all software with unopened packages as well as all intact Web codes; Still in shrink-wrapping or original protective packaging.
  • Textbook return deadlines are posted in the bookstore, and are generally two weeks from the start of each fall and spring semester, and two days from the start of each summer session.
  • If you need to exchange merchandise for a different size, color or style, please include a note with the exchange, which indicates the merchandise you would like to receive. 

Returns made without a receipt can only be exchanged for other merchandise.  Also, if your personal charge card was not used to make the initial purchase, the merchandise can only be exchanged. For all exchanges and returns by mail, include the packing slip or receipt (receipt can be reprinted on the order history page) with your return and a $5 check or money order made out to UR Bookstore and your return address.

For all exchanges and returns, include the packing slip or receipt (receipt can be reprinted on the order history page) with your return. Repackage your item(s) in the original packaging or in an appropriate cardboard box. Using packing material (e.g. Styrofoam peanuts, bubble wrap, etc.) around your item(s), pack and tape your package securely. Select a carrier that offers you the option to insure and track your package. UPS, FedEx, and USPS all offer this option. Insuring and tracking your package protects you as the shipper and helps ensure your shipment goes to the correct destination in the same condition it was as when you sent it.

Arrange for a carrier to pick up your package or drop it off with the carrier. Shipping is the responsibility of the customer and is not refundable, unless due to our error. No credit is given for lost or damaged packages in route to UR Spider Shop. Please insure and track your package. Returns to UR Spider Shop will be refunded to the original credit card or account used for payment unless a different payment option was selected. A refund will be posted to your credit card or account once your return is received and processed. Processing times for returns vary, and may take up to 30 days from the day the return is received for a credit to be transmitted to your credit card or account. It normally takes 2-10 business days for financial institutions to process the transmitted credit request.
